My stepmommy makes me help her celebrate the sells she did. My stepmother is a lovely woman, but sometimes she makes me feel like I’m a sell out. If this happens to you, understand that there are many people out there who are thinking the same thing. You see, I had an aunt who had six kids, and every time we had money problems her kids would call and mom would say “just take them to school, they’ll be fine”. I thought that was the most honest thing any person could say, but in truth, my stepmom made me help her celebrate the fact she was selling six or seven kids for a living. She made me believe that there were better things in life. After years of fighting with the fact I couldn’t go to college, stepmoms made me believe that there were better ways to get a college education.
I can never forget the first time I told my stepmom that I would like to make some money. The look on her face when she told me that she would love for me to make money working at home wasn’t quite as wonderful as it might have been if she had known that I had a college scholarship. Of course, it wouldn’t have been half as helpful if she knew that I could actually get an online degree for free through an organization that made it possible for us to teach those who are unable to pay for the classes necessary to earn a college degree. That would have been so much sweeter than the look on her face when she gave me the news. Unfortunately, all my efforts didn’t make a bit of difference, but my stepmother was determined to help me make more money – even if that meant I had to sell myself to some of her desperate stepchildren!
It’s true that making money can be stressful. Even when you’re working for someone who gives you everything you need, it can still be hard to make ends meet. My stepmom makes it even harder by setting me up in the role of a middleman for her late night junk calls, and by making sure I have to sell my time to her when she needs it. Fortunately, I was able to find a solution that allowed me to not only make some extra cash, but also to sell my time.
