Aunt and Son Mind Control Religious Mom . Aunt and Son are a DVD by Jim Carrey that takes the reader on a journey as he attempts to help his ailing uncle, Dr. Sam Hakeley cures his debilitating mental condition, possession. Aunt and Son take the reader through a series of events that occur in the patient’s life as he slowly regains his old abilities. The movie is very well done for an animated feature and features some good one-liners and humor throughout. Although the storyline may seem a little odd at first, watching Aunt and Son is very enjoyable for a comedy film. Most people find the humor in watching a father go crazy over his son and find themselves rooting for his recovery. You can definitely feel the difference when Sam Hakeley realizes he’s a possession, but even those who aren’t fans of comedy films should find this one to be funny.
The movie has a great premise and some great acting from Jeff Daniels, but Aunt and Son are not the best film of its kind. It also doesn’t have the most creative screenplay. But then, that’s part of the charm. The movie’s main storyline revolves around the question of religion and faith, and how they can help someone achieve better mental health. The movie is largely based around the father-son relationship, and the uncle-niece relationship. The whole movie just feels like a movie about two families trying to cope with a mental disorder, rather than one about faith and spirituality.
So what are your favorites when it comes to humor and mind control? I’m going to have to say, watching Uncle Jim and Auntie began the movie again just reminded me of when I was a teenager. I can remember sitting in the family room while the reruns of “Seinfeld” and “F.R.I.E.N.D.S.” played on the TV. Just laughing at the dumb lines and scenes was all I had on my mind. I can only imagine that watching the movie version will be even more fun.
