My favorite scene in the newest installment of “Daddy’s Girl” starring dads is the one where Step Mom teaches her daughter how to cook for a living. I have always found that the funniest scenes in comedies are when the moms are teaching their sons, or at least what they will be taught. The funny part about this scene is Step Mom has a do it your-self attitude which is so hilarious. It also makes me laugh to see how much she’s grown since the last time I saw her in the series. In this scene, she shows her son how to mix paint and in turn, he demonstrates what he does by painting a mural on the wall.
When I was a little kid, I remember my mother taking us to the basement kitchen every Sunday after school to cook dinner for my two brothers and four sisters. While we were growing up, my father would make us reheat frozen chicken, pork chops, hamburgers etc. When it came time for my stepmother to teach us, she made sure we learned as much as we could on our own so that we would have a better understanding on what cooking for a living really meant. As you can imagine, it wasn’t easy for her to do that because she loved to cook and even cooked every night but simply could not get past the fact that we were children. She did however come close to making our home a one-stop shop for all of our meals.
In the latest “Daddy’s Girl” episode, Step Mom still loves to show her children how to cook, but she has gotten much more sensible. Instead of telling her children how to prepare meals, she starts off the lesson by explaining that you should not go in the kitchen unprepared. She shows her son how to read labels and then asks him to help her clean up the kitchen by putting the dishes in the dishwasher. Although she is still a bit new to cooking for a living, she has learned enough to at least show her children how to read the ingredients. Step Mom Teaches Her Daughter and Son.
