It was originally used as a backonym of “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge” and “Fornication With the Consent of the King,” but it has since been banned in print. The Oxford English Dictionary suggests that the word was first written down in 1528. However, it was only in the twentieth century that fuck was considered “printable.” The term was later displaced by spelling distortions that are more modern.
