Stepson takes care of his Stepmom Shalina Devine. My Stepson takes care of me like no other child in the world, so when I heard about the great things that a foster child could do for a child in need, I was thrilled. In fact, I had been looking around for a child myself, and it seemed like Stepson was going to be the child that would make my world go crazy. He changed our family’s life literally overnight. He became our protector, our caretaker, and even taught us a thing or two about getting along and standing up for what we believe in.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t all wonderful. I’ve seen firsthand how Stepson can take innocent lives, just because he is so convinced that he is right. It is an unfortunate truth that there are some children who do not have loving homes or who do not receive a great deal of love and attention from their families. But my heart is filled with joy every day as I watch my wonderful son grow into a young man, ready to take care of his own and protect those around him.
I am so grateful for all of the love and support that my Stepson receives and all of the help that he gives me in my own daily efforts to provide a loving home for my little guy. The transition has been difficult, but at times I have wondered if it was even possible for Stepson to manage his own needs while taking care of mine. Thankfully, he is a fighter and has found great success doing just that. He has stepped into my shoes for me and provided a kind of strength and courage that I have never had as a child. He has made a difference in the lives of many and has become an example for many people.
